Atmosphere is the air or the mixture of gases that is surrounding the Earth surface which ranges upto 10000 km above the Earth's surface. This layer is very important for lifeforms to survive on earth as it keeps the required temperature for survival in check and makes it favorable for life. it is very important as it is made up of certain gases that are mixed together and are very necessary to support the life systems on earth.

Troposphere- this is the closest layer to the surface and the densest of all the layers and ranges from 0 to 12 km.
Stratosphere- the next layer after troposphere which contains the Ozone and helps in protection against UV radiations the temperature at this level decreases from troposphere.
Mesosphere- the next layer after the stratosphere which ranges from 50 to 80 km.
Thermosphere- the second highest layer which has no essence of water vapor present in the temperature might rise up to 1500 degrees ranging upto 700 kilometers.
Exosphere- the highest layer which ranges upto 10000 kilometer and the gases dissolve in space after this range.
