so first let's know about the atom.

Atom:-according to the dalton's atomic theory the atom is an indivisible particle.

when we keeps on dividing a substance then a point will come there that particles can't be divided anymore so that particle is nothing but the atom.

but by the further studies we came to know that the atom is made up of sub atomic particle.
that is electron proton and neutron.

ex:- H,C,Cu,N, etc

most of the people get confused between atom and ion.
so,

ion:--ions are electrically charged or anion is positively or negatively charged atom or the group of atom.

so, the atom is electrically neutral but the ion is electrically charged atom.


Molecules:--Molecules are the group of two or more atoms.

the main difference between atom and molecule is that:-the atom may or may not be exist freely but the molecules always exist freely.

ex:-H2O, CO2 etc.
