(1): ATP synthesis in chloroplast takes place to store energy in the form of glucose but in mitochondria it is synthesised to release the energy.
(2): in chloroplast ATP synthesis accompanies the liberation of oxygen while in mitochondria oxygen is taken in to release energy.
(3): in chloroplast ATP synthesis can occur during day but in mitochondria it can occur during day or night.
