For Anne, the diary represented who she desired to be in her life.

She was able to escape from the annexe (shackles) and explore her ideas and desires within the pages of her diary.

It helped her to stay sane and explore her deepest thoughts and emotions.

It was her much needed friend and companion during the hard times.

It was her confidante to whom she shared all her deepest secrets and desires.

It was also a reflection of what her life was and what she hoped it would be.

It portrays the ""struggles of an adolescent"" during the Holocaust and how hope still lingered in her soul even during the darkest times.

Anne felt that like a coin, there was two sides to her.

One side was the 'lighter' side which was comical and aloof whereas the other side was the 'deeper' side which was thoughtful.

Anne felt that her lighter side was well received by others in the annexe.

She appreciated several light hearted emotions such as flirting and embraces when she was in her lighter side.

On the other hand, she felt that her deeper side was criticized by others a lot and was comparatively weak.

She felt that her lighter side almost always wins over her deeper side due to this.

Being an adolescent, Anne wanted validation from others for her actions and thoughts.

Unfortunately, the annexe could not contain her personality and played a major role in creating conflicting ideas within her.

'The Frost King' was a short story written by Helen Keller which she had sent to Mr Anangnos of the Perkins Institution for the Blind.

He was very impressed with the story and published it.

Soon, it came to their notice that it was very similar to 'The Frost Fairies' written by Miss Margaret T. Canby and so it was believed that Helen's story was plagiarised as Canby's creation was published way before hers.

So, a court of investigation was held with four blind people and four people with vision.

Mr Anangnos who had supported Helen till then soon turned against her and cast his vote against her.

This had such huge negative impact on Helen.

She ceased to do any kind of creative works for a long time.

Ms Sullivan had to persuade her a lot and aid her in gaining her self-confidence back.

Bishop Brooks is one of the people who influence Helen Keller a lot.

She is initially devoid of interest in the Bible and abhors the barbaric acts described in it.

Bishop Brooks does not persuade Helen to follow one particular religion.

He teaches her about the religion of love.

He makes her see that as humans, we should love all too.

He helps her see that Good always triumphs Evil and that it is much easier to be nice to all instead of being mean.

He is a noble soul with a deep understanding of the world and the philosophy of life.

He did not teach Helen about one particular religion rather he taught her about the two main ideals of lives: One's love for all.

These ideals influenced Helen so much that she felt there were two important truths of life.
