SOLUTION

GIVEN

Audrey's monthly car payment is $350 and she needs to save at least $35 each month for gas. If audrey is paid $17.50 an hour

TO DETERMINE

Write and solve an inequality to represent the number of hours she must work in a month the pay for her car payment and gas

EVALUATION

Here it is given that Audrey's monthly car payment is $350 and she needs to save at least $35 each month for gas

The total amount of car payment and gas

= $ 350 + $ 35

= $ 385

Let the number of hours she must work in a month = x

Again it is given that Audrey is paid $17.50 an hour

So by the given condition

 \sf{17.50x \geqslant 385}

Which is the required inequality

We now solve the inequality

 \sf{17.50x \geqslant 385}

 \sf{ \implies \: x \geqslant 22}

Hence the minimum number of hours she must work in a month = 22
