Why did ausable blink:

• Ausable blinked when he caught sight of Max standing in the room with a reflex pistol in his hand. Then he inquired Max what he was doing there as Ausable thought that Max was in Berlin. He did not look scared in the least.  

• Ausable also says that he had described to the management and asked them to block off the balcony but nothing has been done till now.
