The author of the story how the dog found himself a new master is not known , it is a story which is mentioned in the NCERT book.

Concept

The story is about a dog who was sick of stumbling around looking for food and shelter and wanted to serve the strongest master on earth. So it began extending its hand to many species. In the end, it was discovered that humans possess the most power. It then opted to become domesticated and work for humans.

The domesticated wolf's ancestor is the dog. The current wolf is the dog's closest surviving relative. The dog, sometimes known as the domestic dog, is descended from the extinct Pleistocene wolf. Prior to the advent of agriculture, about 15,000 years ago, hunter-gatherers tamed dogs as the first species[9]. Dogs have become numerous domestic animals as a result of their long contact with humans, and they have developed the ability to thrive on a starch-rich diet that would be insufficient for other canids.
