My halcyon days are over. There was a time when the people used to crave for me. Everyone was in search of securing me as many as possible. I was greatly used in all types of transactions. I was used for good and evil purposes equally. Since my value was quite high, people preferred to hoard me up. Some greedy and anti-national people began printing facsimiles of me.  

 

Then the decision of demonetization was taken up. I was demonetized along with my junior 500 rupee note. I felt so embarrassed; everyone wanted to get rid of me. It was my death. However, I feel happy that as long as was in use, I contributed to the national development. I helped millions of people. Good bye everyone. I hope you will remember me.
