The autotrophic organisms contain a green colored pigment called chlorophyll which helps in trapping energy from the sun. They prepare their own food by utilizing the trapped solar energy, water, and carbon dioxide by the process of photosynthesis. This results in forming of glucose.
Like plants, blue-green algae and cyanobacteria could be considered as the group member into autotrophic nutrition.
