autotrophs prepare their food through the process of photosynthesis and the food that is produced is consumed by all other animals (hetrotrophs) eighter directly or indirectly through the food chain.

autotrophs are the organisms mainly green plants which can prepare their own food .this food is consumed by all the heterotrophs(organisms that do not make tgeir own food)either directly or indirectly

for ex-plant----------->goat ------------------------->tiger
in above ex we can see that goat eat plant and lion eat goat hence goat is consuming plant directly while lion is consuming plant indirectly.
