Average age of 15 students is 14 years. If average of first 8 students is 16 years and
the average of last 8 student is 12 years. The find the age of 8th student.​

Basic method :-

Total age of 15 students = 15*14 = 210

Total age of first 8 = 8*16 = 128

Total age of last 8 students = 8*12 = 96

Total age of 16 students = 128+96 = 224

Age of 8th student = 224-210 = 14 years (ans.)

Shortcut : -

Age of 8th student = [8(16+12) - 15 * 14] = (224-210) = 14 years. (ans.)
