Answer: 36 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of

A be  = a

B be = b

C be = c

Average = \frac{Sum \ of \ observations}{No. \ of \ observations}

Average age of A and B = 30 = \frac{a + b}{2}

∴ a + b = 60 ... (i)

Average age of B and C = 32 = \frac{b+c}{2}

∴ b + c = 64 ... (ii)

Average age of C and A = 34 = \frac{a+c}{2}

∴ a + c = 68 ... (iii)

Now, we have three equations - (i), (ii) and (iii).

(i) a + b = 60

(ii) b + c = 64 ; b = 64 - c

(iii) a + c = 68 ; a = 68 - c

Now, put the values of a and b in the first equation.

a + b = 60

(68 - c) + (64 - c) = 60

68 - c + 64 - c = 60

132 - 2c = 60

132 - 60 = 2c

72 = 2c

2c = 72

∴ c = 72/2 = 36

∴ age of C = 36 years
