Your question needs a correction,

Correct question : Average of 9 no.is 14 .if one no.12 is excluded, find the new average.

      Solution : -

[tex]\bold{\boxed{Average=\dfrac{Sum\:of\:observations}{Number\:of\:observations}}} [/tex]

Given,

    Average of 9 numbers = 14

   Total number = 9

On the basis of the formula given above : -

= > 14 = ( sum of 9 number ) / 9

= > 14 x 9 = sum of 9 numbers

= > 126 = sum of 9 numbers

Now, one number 12 is excluded,

= > sum of 8 numbers = sum of 9 numbers - 12

= > sum of 8 numbers = 126 - 12

= > sum of 8 number = 114

Total numbers = 8

Therefore,

New average = 114 / 8

New average = 14.25
