Average Velocity question: A car travels 1/3rd distance on a straight road with a velocity of 10 km/h, next 1/3rd distance with a velocity of 20 km/h and the next 1/3rd distance with a velocity of 60 km/h. What was the average velocity of the car during the whole trip?
OPTIONS:
(A) 4 km/h
(B) 6 km/h
(C) 12 km/h
(D) 18 km/h

answer =1/10+1/20+1/60=3/a multiply equation by 60a, cancel the denominators and you have 6a +3a +a=60(3)
10a=180
a=180/10
a=18km is the average --
