Average velocity : The average velocity of an object is its total displacement divided by the total time taken.
(Please check the attached image)

Are both the equations
(TOTAL DISPLACEMENT)/(TOTAL TIME TAKEN) and
(v+u)/2
the same? Or are their use based on the situation or question(i.e, both are different)

Please give me the answer in detail and do show an example to prove your statement.

Average velocity is the ratio of total displacement to time interval
Vav=Displacement/time interval
