Ayesha received a gift of Rs. 75,000 from her mother. She invested a part of the amount at 9% and another part at 10% simple interest. If Ayesha receives an interest of Rs. 14,400 at the end of 2 years, how much do she invest at 10%?

Simple interest = P * r * t
Let investment in 10% scheme be X units.

Total interest
   = (75, 000 - X) * 9/100 *2  +  X * 10/100 * 2
   = 14, 400  units

Solving the above equation  X = 45, 000 units
