3(x+1)=8

step by step explanation

  1. First we will expand the given term by removing brackets and multiply with value outside the bracket.

=>3×x+3×1=8

=>3x+3=8

Now ,we obtain 3x+3=8

On the left hand side 3 is being added with 3x so ,when we shifts it towards right hand side it's sign gets changed.We will shift 3 to right hand side as to make Variable one side so that we can easily find out the value of variable say x.

=>3x+3=8

=>3x=8-3

=>3x=5

Now, 3 is being multiplied with x when we shift it towards right hand side it's sign gets changed from multiply to divide.

=>x=5/3

x=5/3

Check

3(5/3+1)=8

=>3(5+1×3/3)

=>3(8/3)

=8
