b. A hydropower dam is 66 metres high and is fully filled with water till the top. How much pressure is exerted by the water at the base of the dam if the density of water is 1000 kg/m3. (Use g = 10 m/s2)

Given,

Height (h) = 66 m

g = 10 m/s²

Density of water (p) = 1000 kg/m³

Pressure (P) = hpg

= 66*1000*10 Pa

= 660000 Pa

The Pressure exerted on the base of the dam is 660000 Pa.
