In the given figure there are 4 resistances in which 2 resistances above are in series and two resistances below are in series. When the resistances are in series we add them linearly to get total resistance. So, total resistance in above wire is 1 ohm + 1 ohm = 2 ohm. Total resistance in below wire is 1 ohm + 1 ohm = 2 ohm. Now the above wire having resistance 2 ohm is parallel to the below wire having resistance 2 ohm. When the resistances are arranged parallel the total resistance is obtained by adding them reciprocally.

Net resistance = 1/2 ohm + 1/2 ohm

Net resistance = 1 ohm.

Hence, the net resistance between A and B in the circuit is 1 ohm
