AnswEr :
1. Parallels and Meridians
☆Parallels :
- Parallels Are Lines of Latitude
- There are 180 parallels of latitudes apart from the Equator.
- All parallels are not of equal length.
- Parallels don’t intersect.
☆ Meridians :
- Meridians Are Lines of Longitude.
- There are total 360 Meridians.
- All meridians converge at the poles and are thus of equal length.
- All meridians intersect at two places; the North Pole and the South Pole.
2. Great Circle and Small Circle
☆ Great Circle :
- A Great Circle is a circle which is drawn on the Earth’s surface in such a way that the center point of the Earth and the Great Circle is the same.
- The radius of the Great Circle is equal to the radius of the Earth.
- All the Great Circles divide the Earth into two equal halves.
- All meridians of longitude are Great Circles.
☆ Small Circle :
- The Small Circles are the circles whose center point is not the center of the Earth.
- The radii of the Small Circles are smaller than the radius of the Earth.
