Explanation:

Given :-

3x+y=11

To find :-

For what value of the point (p,2) lies

on the line 3x+y=11?

Solution:-

Given line is 3x + y = 11 ---------(1)

Given point = (p,2)

If any point lies on the line then it must be the solution of the line.i.e. the points satisfies the given line.

Put x = p and y = 2 in the equation (1)

=> 3(p) + 2 = 11

=> 3p + 2 = 11

=> 3p = 11 - 2

=> 3p = 9

=> p = 9/3

=> p = 3

Therefore, p = 3

Answer:-

The value of p for the given problem is 3

Used Concept:-

If any point lies on the line then it must be the solution of the line.i.e. the points satisfies the given line.
