Suppose A got 100 marks. Then B got 80 marks. Right? 20 is 20% 100. So A is 100 and B is 80. A got 20 marks more than B. That is 25% of 80 (mark of B). So the answer is 25%.

Question :

B got 20% marks less than A. what percent marks did A got more than B.

Answer :

A got 25% more than B.

Given :

B got 20% marks less than A.

To find :

Percent marks which A got more than B.

Solution :

Let X = 20%

Hence, percentage by which A got more than B = { X / (100 - X ) } × 100

= 20/ (100 - 20 ) × 100

= 20 / 80 × 100

= 1/4 × 100

= 25

Hence, required percentage is 25.

Therefore, A got 25% more than B.
