Ionization enthalpy of Li is 520 KJ mol-1 while that of F is 1681 KJ mo1-1. From this given statement, we can see that the Ionisation Potential or the Ionisation Enthalpy of the Li metal is lesser in value than the Ionisation Enthalpy of the non-metal fluorine, which has nearly three times the Ionisation potential than metallic Lithium.  

This just goes to show that F is more electronegative than Lithium,  implying that F requires more energy to ionize than Li.
