B. Three of the exterior angles of a hexagon are
40°, 51° and 86°. If each of the remaining
exterior angles is xº, find the value of x.​

To find :

  • the value of x

Solution :

✳ The total exterior angles of the hexagon are 360°.

⇒ Here, we have to add all angles together and subtract them from 360.

360° = 40° + 51° + 86° + x

        = 177 + x

     x = 360° - 177°

        = 183°

Therefore, we have found the value of three exterior angles.

⇒ Now, a Hexagon consists of 6 sides. And we already know the other three sides. So, we have to calculate the 3 exterior angles.

x = 183/3

  = 61°

Therefore, the value of x is 61°.
