let us keep varun's age as x

so, babu's age will be x + 24

10 years back,

so,

varun = x - 10

babu =  x + 24 - 10 = x + 14

varun' s age 5 times = 5 (x-10) = 5x - 50

so,

5x - 50 = x = 14

= 5x - x = 14 + 50

= 4x = 64

= x = 16

therfore their present ages would be,

varun = x = 16 years

babu = x + 24 =16 + 24 = 40 years
