bacteria do not have chloroplast but some bacteria are phototrophic in nature and perform photosynthesis .which part of the bacterial cell performs this function ?

Plants to the Photosynthesis with help of Chlorophyll. Bacteria also contain similar compound call Bacteriochlorophyll which allows the bacteria to perform photosynthesis for food
