Bacteria cell do not have chloroplast yet some photoautotrophic bacteria perform photosynthesis due to the presence of light absorbing pigments and reaction centres embedded in the cell membrane.
The reaction centre exist in form of sacs, tubes or sheets depending on the amount of surface area needed.
