Bacterial photosynthesis involves PS-I only.

In case of cyanobacteria and also plants, both the photosystems- PS-I and PS-II are present.

* In bacteria, photosynthesis takes place in absence of oxygen so molecules such as H2S are used as electron donor.

* Also, cyclic photophosphorylation takes place which results in the production of ATP only.

* In case of oxygenic photosynthesis, non-cyclic photophosphorylation takes place as both ATP and NADPH are required.
