Battle of Buxar had a very huge impact on the History of India. The battle which was fought between the Company Force and the combined forces of Mir Qasim (Nawab of Bengal), Shuja-ud-daulah (Nawab of Awadh) and Shah Alam II (The Mughal Emperor) in 1764, ended with Company’s victory. This victory made the EIC the supreme force of the North India. In the words of Historian B.L Grover, “Buxar confirmed the decision of Plassey”. Battle of Buxar made the Company the strong contendors for the supremacy of India.
