bal gangadhar tilak was born on July 22 1856 at rajnagar. he was from a royal family but his father was a school teacher. he did his schooling from poorna high school .he was the first leader of the Indian national movement. the British colonial authorities called him FATHER OF THE INDIAN UNREST. he believed that only education could free the Indian people from foreign rule. tilak demonstrated a path towards national movement, therefore he is called as the father of terrorism. through shivaji and ganpati festivals ,tilak aroused unique awareness in the country. tilak was charged with incitement to murder and sentenced to 18 months imprisonment.
