Here's the answer to your question....

In the first equation
on the reactants side there are two molecules of hydrogen and oxygen but on the products there are two molecules of hydrogen but only one of oxygen so by multiplying 2 on the products side and 2 on the reactants side with hydrogen the equation would be balanced..

In the second equation
on the reactants side there are two molecules of sodium two molecules of oxygen and two molecules of hydrogen.
And on the products side there are one molecules of each element so on multiplying the products side by 2 the equation would be balanced..
