Cu + 2HNO3 = CuNO3 + NO2 + H2O

This is the correct equation not that one



zak18: it is copper+nitric acid=copper nitrate+nitric oxide +water
adiattaluri: Then the balanced equation would be 3Cu+8HNO3=3Cu(NO3)2+2NO+4H2O
