"       Balanoglossus is the connecting link between chordates and the non-chordates.

These connecting links in terms of biology are the animals or to say living organisms which exhibit the traits of two taxonomic groups.

Balanoglossus are a type of worms and marine animals as for their habitat they are found in the temperate region and these are also commonly known as the tongue worms and act as the connecting link between the two referred groups i.e.

The vertebrates and the non-vertebrates.

Their major traits have been reflected in the Chordates as some of the major features of the chordates itself. Eg- Notochords, Gill-slits and the tube shaped nerve chord."
