Basal placentation is found in Asteraceae family. It is one of the largest and wide spread family of flowering plant. Flowers belong to this family includes marigold and sunflower and both of them undergo basal placentation.

Basal placentation is a type of placentation in which ovules are developed at the base of the single or compound ovary
