Base of an isosceles triangle is five more than three times the equal sides and perimeter of the
triangle is 75 cm. Find the lengths of the sides of the triangle.

so according to first condition

x=3y+5 (1)

now we know that perimeter of isoceles triangle is 2×side+base

so second condition says that

2y+x=75 (2)

substitute value of x from (1) in (2)

we get 75=2y+3y+5

ie 5y=70

so y=14

now substitute value of y in (1)

we get x=3y+5

x=(3×14)+5

ie x=42+5

so x=47

hence length of each equal side of isoceles triangle is 14 cm while its base is 47 cm
