Question:-

Base of triangle is 9 and height is the 5 . Base of another triangle is 10 and the height is 6. Find the ratio of the area of these triangle.

Required Answer:-

Given:-

  • Base of a triangle is 9 and height is 5.
  • Base of another triangle is 10 and height is 6.

To Find:-

  • The ratio of the area of these triangles.

Solution:-

Let,

The triangle having 9 units base and 5 units height be ∆ABC

And,

The triangle having 10 units base and 6 units height be ∆PQR

We know that:-

Area of triangle = 1/2(base × height) square units

Therefore,

Area of ∆ABC = 1/2(9×5) square units

=> Area of ∆ABC = 1/2×45 square units

=> Area of ∆ABC = 22.5 square units

Again,

Area of ∆PQR = 1/2(10×6) square units

=> Area of ∆PQR = 1/2 × 60 square units

=> Area of ∆PQR = 30 square units

Now,

Ratio of ∆ABC and ∆PQR = ∆ABC : ∆PQR

=> Ratio of ∆ABC and ∆PQR = 22.5 : 30

=> Ratio of ∆ABC and ∆PQR = 225 : 300

=> Ratio of ∆ABC and ∆PQR = 3:4

Hence, the ratio of the triangles is 3:4
