Jem and Lizabeth were both young children who are enjoying their childhood but there are some events that make them appear to be negative in their decisions because they both respond negatively in some situations.
In the story Marigold,Lizabeth is otherwise a simple and nice girl but she gets very jealous of a rich lady and destroys her flowers in the garden because this makes her feel she is poor.On the other hand when a lady insults Jen's father in front of him,then he destroys her flowers.
While Jem's behaviour was out of anger but Lisabeth's behaviour was out of jealousy.
