Both are ionic bonds. But BaSo4 has more ionic nature than Na2So4 .Because radius of the Ba2+ is bigger than Na+ . Bigger radius bigger ionic nature. When a bond has more ionic nature it is more stable .

So water cannot break them . But water can break Na2SO4 bond. Because it is not stable as BaSO4
