Read the passage and underline the adjectives of quality, quantity and number. Write the
adjectives in a table as shown on the next page. One has been done for you.
Once upon a time there lived three billy goats on one side of the mountain. They decided to
go up to the other side of the mountain to eat the sweet grass growing there. There was a big
bridge between the two sides of the mountain.
A big cruel troll lived under the bridge. His eyes were as big as dinner plates
and his nose, as long as a poker.
The youngest billy goat was the first one to cross the big bridge. As it was crossing
the bridge, the troll asked in a grumpy voice, “Who is walking over my bridge?"
"Oh, it is the small billy goat Gruff. I'm going to the other side to eat grass,"
answered the billy goat in a tender and timid voice.
The troll said, "You cannot go because I will eat you now."​
