(1) Assertive sentence:-

A sentence that says or states something is called assertive sentence or declarative sentence.

Examples:-

  • I live in india.
  • Exercising is good for health

(2) Interrogative sentence:-

A sentence that asks questions is known as interrogative sentence.

Examples:-

  • Where do you live ?
  • How did you reach there ?

(3) Exclamatory sentence:-

A sentence that expresses strong feelings (happiness, joy, sadness, excitement, wish, wonder) is called an Exclamatory sentence.

Examples:-

  • Oh ! What a beautiful sight !
  • How kind of you !

(4) Imperative sentence:-

A sentence that expresses a command, a request or an advice is called an imperative sentence.

Examples:-

  • you should revise your your revise your lessons regularly.
  • Bring me that book.
  • Please switch off the the music system.

(5) Negative sentence:-

Those sentence which express a negation (and contain ‘not’ or words such as ‘never’) are called Negative sentence.

Examples:-

  • I have never been to France.
  • He did not finish his homework.
