How many metres of cloth, 1m 10cm wide, will be required to make a conical circus tent whose height is 12m and the radius of whose base is 10m=?

Determine also the cost of the cloth at ₹7 per metre.​

∴ Slant Height 'l' = √r²+h²

l² = √10²+12² 

l² = √100+144

l² =√244

l = 15.62 m

Curved surface area of the conical tent = πrl

= 22/7*10*15.62

= 3436.4/7

Curved surface area of tent or area of the cloth used = 490.91 sq m

Width of the cloth = 1.1 m

Length of the cloth used = 490.91/1.1

= 446.28 m
