When benzene is treated with abundant chlorine in presence of bright sunlight, benzene hexachloride is formed.

C6H6 + 6Cl2 (in sunlight) → C6Cl6 + 6HCl

Instead if benzene is treated with chlorine in presence of anhd. aluminum chloride, it gives chlorobenzene.

C6H6 + Cl2 (with AlCl3) → C6H5Cl + HCl
