Ethanol to Benzene conversion :-
✓ Ethanol ( CH₃CH₂OH ) is mixed with conc. H₂SO₄ and heated.
✓ Ethene ( C₂H₄ ) is prepared.
✓ CCl₄ is added to C₂H₄
✓ BrCH₂CH₂Br will be formed.
✓ Add alco. KOH to BrCH₃CH₃Br and heat.
✓ You'll get acetylene ( C₂H₂ ).
✓ Acetylene is sent through a heated pipe.
✓ Acetylene polymerise and gives Benzene.
