Beryllium hydroxide dissolves in sodium hydroxide but magnesium hydroxide does not. Why?

Beryllium hydroxide is amphoteric in nature.Hence Be(OH)2 + 2NaOH = Na2{Be(OH4)} it can respond to acid as well as base.When Beryllium hydroxide is dissolve in sodium hydroxide,sodium tetrahydroxoberyllate is formed.Magnesium hydroxide is a base,hence it will not dissolve in sodium hydroxide.
