The answer is metallic conduction.
In metallic electronic conduction, the electrons move in a compact structure where the conducting atoms are closely packed to each other. This makes the transfer of the electrons more efficient and faster.
In contrast, the transfer in an electrolyte is a bit slower. This is because in an electrolyte, electric conduction depends on charged ions. The ions are usually not closely packed as is in metals.
