  1. Alveoli (small sac like structures) present in the lungs are the site of gaseous exchange. It also provides a large surface area for the absorption and exchange of gases.
  2. As u can see below, the capillaries surrounding the alveoli Also takes part in this process. Our body transports oxygen from the alveoli into the blood and carbon dioxide  from the blood into the alveoli and out of the body.
