percentage of money spent on petrol=30percent

petrol=300

let the total amount be =x

x*30/100=300

=3x/10=300

=3x=300*10

=3x=3000

=x=3000/3

=x=1000

total=1000

remaining amount=1000-300

=700

expenditure spent on house rent=700

ans=700

hope it helps

Answer:

Rs 700

Step-by-step explanation:

Let total income of Bhanu be Rs x.

Bhanu spends 30% of his total income on buying petrol.

So, 30% of total income is - (30/100)*x.

The rest of his income is spent on house rent and food.

So, according to the problem, Rs 300 is the amount Bhanu spends on buying petrol.

Then,

(30/100)*x=300

x= (300*100)/30

x=1000

Therefore Bhanu's total income is Rs 1000.

So, expense on house rent is Rs 1000-300= Rs 700.

On house rent Bhanu spends Rs 700 and on buying petrol he spends Rs 300.
