Given: Bhoomika visited to her elder sister's house, From a point P, where Bhoomika was standing, society's gate and building come in a straight line as shown in the figure.

To find:

26. Which similarity criteria can be seen in this case, iſ gate and building are considered in a straight line.

27. If the distance between Bhoomika and the gate is twice as much as the height of the gate, then the height of the gate.

Solution:

26.

The two triangles seen in the figure have a common angle which is acute at point P. They also have right angles made at their perpendiculars. This means that the two triangles are similar by AA (Angle-Angle) postulate.

27.

Let the distance between Bhoomika and the gate be d and let the height o the gate be h. Now, according to the question, the following equation can be written.

d = 2h

50 = 2h

h = 25 m

Therefore,

26. If gate and building are considered in a straight line, the similarity criteria AA can be seen in this case.

27. The height of the gate is 25 m.

Although a figure of your question is missing, you might be referring to the one attached.
