Given as :

The initial speed of biker = s = 60 km/h

The increase in speed in every 2 hours by 3 km/h

To Find :

The maximum distance covered by biker in 24 hours

Solution :

As the speed increase by 3 km/h in every 2 hours

i.e  60 km/h  ,  63 km/h , 66 km/ , 69 km/h , 72 km/h     ............ upto

So, This is series in Arithmetic progression

So,  T_n = a + ( n - 1 ) d

Or,  T_1_2 = 60 + ( 12 - 1 ) 3

Or, T_1_2 = 60 + 11 × 3

∴  T_1_2 = 93 km/h

So, Total speed in 24 hours = 60 km/h + 93 km/h = 153 km/h

Now, Again

Distance cover in 24 hours = Speed × time

As speed increase in every 2 hours, So, Time required = \dfrac{24}{4} = 6 h

Or,  maximum distance cover = 153 km/h × 6 h

i.e                                              = 918  km

Hence, The maximum distance cover by bike rider is 918 km. Answer
