India's first female Merchant Navy captain Radhika Menon made India proud by winning the top International Bravery award by the international Maritime Organisation . she was fascinated for asking her own life to save 7 fisherman from drowning at sea in a sinking fishing boat in the Bay of Bengal last year coincidently Milan also became the first woman ever to be awarded by IMO . after graduating from school Menon studied one and half year radio course at the all India Marine College in Kochi .after completing her radio course she assumed the post of radio officer with Shipping Corporation of India SCI .Enam created history when she became the first woman captain of India and took charge of empty Sampoorna Swarajya a Merchant Navy ship .meanon lives with her family in Kochi and spends quality time with them when she is not saying for the most part of the Year .
